Van Eck monitoring
It would be very cool if we could get a group of people together to build a Van Eck monitoring device. This technology picks put up the electromagnetic radiation emanations from electronic equipment such as microchips, monitors, cables and printers. We would like to build a receiver and antenna used to monitor emanations from computer monitors and show this device at HIP in August. Most people have heard about Tempest, but that is something different. Tempest is a set of standards used to reduce electromagnetic emanations from electronic equipment. Tempest is a technology that tries to prevent a Van Eck device from being effective. If you have knowledge about electromagnetic emanations and analog signal processing and you live in the Netherlands than send an email to eck@hip97.nl. We believe that for a group of people to work on a project like this it is necessary to actually meet and work together in the same room. So if you don't live in the Netherlands it doesn't make much sense to be a part of the group. But you could provide us with information.
